Why & When Rejection Happens

There are only two reasons by which something is rejected. It happens when something is not good enough for others, or it happens when something is too good for them. It is the law of attraction that governs whether something is accepted or rejected. For something to be accepted by another, it has to be in vibrational harmony with it. Otherwise it will be rejected. That which rejects you is rejected by you. Conscious dissonance creates rejection. Therefore rejection is really a good thing when it happens.

It is conscious resonance that determines harmony or conflict. When two people have similar consciousness, that’s when they harmonize with each other. When they have opposing consciousness, there will be conflict in their interaction. Rejection helps you to discover who does not vibrate at the same frequency as you, and therefore it lets you know whom not to waste your energy and resources with. By following the way of the universe, you’ll act wisely and give yourself only to those who’re truly worthy.

Value has to be perceived and appreciated in order to be embraced. You may possess great value and precious resources, but if others do not see it, then they cannot access it. When they reject you, they do not receive the gift that you have to offer to them. In order for people to be ready and suitable to experience the value that you are, they must have the capacity to perceive it. You should not cast pearls before swine as it is an unwise way to handle precious wisdom. There must be a receiver for a giver.

Birds of the same feather flock together. Chickens and eagles do not mix as they exist at very different levels. If you want to be one, you have to reject and be rejected by the other. It is those that are unwilling to be rejected that cause themselves to remain where they are. Losers vibrate at the same frequency and so do winners. The higher you go on your own path of self development, the more you will find yourself becoming not of the same frequency with others who are not with you and be rejected by them.

The law of averages state that the majority of anything will always be found balanced at an area between the highest point and the lowest point. Those that are hardest to find are either exceptionally very good or very bad. It is those at the middle that have the most company, because they have many others at their level to connect with. Therefore if you find it harder and harder to connect with those around you, it either means you are going further beneath them or above them. You’re becoming exceptional.

It is time to raise them closer to your level if appropriate, otherwise it’s time to detach from them and connect with a whole new group of people who are closer to your level. Become more and more detached from the people around you, except those who are worthy. Forsake everything else that is a waste of your time, or not the best use of your valuable time. Don’t bother relating with all the lesser people. You have to reject the rest in order to accept only the best. Rejection is a blessing as it sets you apart.

Rejection shows you where spirit wants you to be. When the creator wants you to relate with someone, he will draw you to that person and he will draw that person to you. The same spirit that works in you to move you towards a certain direction, is the same spirit that works in that person to move him or her in the same direction. For something to happen at the time that it is meant to happen, there must be internal and external alignment. The workings of spirit is always easy, light and effortless. That is the way.

Therefore you do not have to try to gain anyone’s acceptance or try to win the approval of others. There simply is no need to when you understand the workings of the universe that brings the right people together at the right time and in the right way. All you have to do is to walk your own path and to be the way you are guided to be in every moment. You do not have to change to suit anyone. You simply be who the universe created you to be and you will attract the right people at the right time naturally.

When you try to change in order to gain the acceptance or approval of someone, you move out of alignment with spirit. Your true state of being is one that is perfect, complete and whole. Therefore to think, feel and act like you need acceptance and approval is to be out of vibrational harmony with your true self. The universe has purposed you to be a certain kind of person for a certain purpose, therefore when you remain true to yourself, the right pieces will come together and the wrong ones won’t.

Don’t be afraid of rejection from others and don’t be afraid to reject others. The more you walk the path you are meant to walk, the more you will find people becoming in resonance or out of resonance with you. The trap that causes you to be unable to leave people you are supposed to leave is created by you not continuing on your path. You do not gain enough momentum from spirit to break away from your lower state of being and that is why you are still attached to them at that level. Truth sets you free.

Rejection is good. It is good to reject others and be rejected by others. Rejection is a means by which the universe shows you who you’re not meant to relate with because it is not for your highest good. Therefore when you reject others or are rejected by others, you can be happy about it. Rejection shows you who’s not worthy for you. Even Jesus Christ was rejected by Man. The stone which the builders rejected became the head of the corner which was the most crucial piece of the temple building.

Can I Attract A Specific Person with the Law of Attraction?

One of the questions I’m asked most often after “how do I attract more money”, is “Can I use the Law of Attraction to attract a specific person?”.

Attracting LoveOften someone has met someone in their life and wants to use the law of attraction to make that person fall in love with them, or to some other degree, be attracted to them. Or, there’s been a breakup, and you want to use the law of attraction to get that person back.

Now I want you to hear me out because you may not particularly like where I go with the answer at first, but bear with me so you can get the big picture, and I think you’ll feel much better.

It’s important to realize why you feel drawn to attract a person into your life, or back into your life, and although I’ll deal with both of those situations separately, it’s important to realize that in both cases, what you’re really wanting is the FEELING that you believe you’ll have with that person in your life. Actually, this is true with anything that you want to attract in your life, like money and other stuff – you believe that having these things will give you a particular feeling; love, security, freedom, happiness and so on.

So remember that you’re always putting out SOME kind of vibration, and as a result of that vibration, people will come in and out of your life because they resonate at least at some level with what you’re putting out there. So if even at a subconscious level, you’re putting out some kind of vibration about the kind of person you’d like in your life, the Universe is going to respond completely appropriately.

As a result, many different people come in and out of our experience based on what we’re vibrating. Sometimes, a very special person appears. So special, in fact, that they evoke a very powerful feeling within us. They bring to the surface the feelings associated with the type of relationship we’re looking for, and as a result, we want MORE of that, and we feel that the way to have more of that is to make that person a more significant part of our lives.

But the fact is that sometimes that will happen easily and effortlessly and sometimes it will not. So what makes that difference?

Well, there are many reasons that this person may have brought forth those strong emotions in you, and those reasons may or may not have anything to do with what that person happens to be vibrating. They may remind you of someone, or an idea of someone that triggers your emotional reaction. They may look like them, dress like them, talk like them, or even smell like them. While the smelling thing may seem silly at first, smells are very powerful, and it’s not uncommon for a perfume, cologne, or other aroma to trigger very powerful emotional memories of a prior relationship and you find yourself getting attached to this new person because of all the associations you have with that smell.

I say all this to simply communicate that just because a particular person evokes strong emotion in you, it does not mean that this is THE person for you, or the Universe’s delivery of your ultimate relationship…although it could be. The key is to not attach your happiness to having THIS person be THE person – because this person, like you, has free will – and their own set of desires with regards to finding the perfect mate.

Often it may be that this person is a really close match…but they’re already involved with someone else. So you have to think – if YOU were in a committed happy relationship, would you want someone trying to “Law of Attract” your mate away from you? Of course not. But really the bottom line is this: When you meet someone that you want to be a part of your life, it is because of the feeling that you believe that person will provide. From a strictly law of attraction standpoint, as long as you are clear on what those feelings are, and hold that vibration, the appropriate person will show up. But along the way, you might meet several “close but no cigars”, because while they are a vibrational match on many levels, they’re not an exact vibrational match.


That lack of resonance may show up as really obvious things like, they’re already married or in a relationship. You may enjoy your time together most of the time, but there is just too much fighting…or that the other person decides to move on.

I totally understand that it’s a hard pill to swallow when someone that you so desperately want in your life – that seems to be THE ONE – does not share those feelings, or the circumstances don’t permit the relationship to occur. However if you can see the big picture, you will understand that ultimately, while it may have been close, this is NOT the relationship you want – because isn’t it true that you’d prefer to have a relationship that occurs effortlessly? Without all the hard work? Or that doesn’t put you in a situation where you have to compromise your integrity just to be with that person?

I believe that often you will have relationships that are “close but not quite” to you gain clarity on what you truly DO want in a relationship. For example, someone like that, but that doesn’t drink – or that I don’t argue with so much – or that doesn’t flirt with everybody else, and so on.

You do NOT want to attract a relationship where you’re ultimately going to want someone to change – or be in any way someone who they truly aren’t, just to fit into your picture of your “dream relationship.” You can HAVE the dream relationship, but just like everything else, you have to allow it in, without resistance.

Resistance is a key element in all of this. Our deep-running beliefs about relationships are also often at cause for things going awry.

It may be that you DO attract an ideal partner into your life quite effortlessly, just by being exactly who you are, with your desire to attract the appropriate person sort of running in the background. But when that person shows up in our experience, suddenly all our stuff comes up. We stop being living in our natural state of being, and let all of our fears and doubts take over our vibration. “What if they leave me?” “What if I’m not good looking enough?” “What if they cheat on me like so and so?”

All of these thoughts CHANGE your vibration, and thus WILL affect your life experience. Where you were once in vibrational alignment with this person and thus attracted them, these negative thoughts take you into a different vibrational frequency which will not resonate in the same way with that person as when you were just being you without all the “stuff” at the forefront. As a result, you will find the relationship suddenly difficult, painful, or just plain ouniversal attractive vibrationver. When there is a breakup, it is an indication that you are simply no longer in vibrational resonance with a person. Begging or conniving to get that person back into your life will not bring you back into resonance with that person, and if somehow you force a person back through something like guilt or manipulation, you may have some temporary emotional relief, but it can never last because resonance is not there for a harmonious relationship. It is much better to let that person follow their path, while you redefine or get back on yours.

Now look, I acknowledge that having people move OUT of your life can be hard, and for some, nearly impossible depending on the relationship that exists. Still, should you choose to take a path that significantly changes your vibration, and the other people in your life do not support that change, or simply aren’t a vibrational match, you will always find challenges in maintaining that relationship. Ultimately, it is your choice.

All of this is why, as a general rule, we want to be constantly working on eradicating resistance in our lives. Releasing resistance, though techniques like EFT, the Sedona Method, TAT, or a host of others, needs to be an integral part of your life. Our limiting beliefs about ourselves and our worthiness doesn’t just affect things like money, but also relationships, and anything ELSE we want in our lives. If we have “stuff” about it, it’s going to be hard to attract and hold onto – and this definitely hold true for romantic relationships.

But it’s not always “bad” stuff like negative feelings and beliefs that causes relationships to change. Sometimes it’s just part of our own natural evolution as human beings. Our personal paths sometimes simply change. I see it a lot with people who decide to suddenly play a bigger or at least different game in their life. They commit to being something bigger and better than they’ve ever been and really step into that commitment. As a result their vibration changes and not everyone they’ve attracted into their lives to this point are a vibrational match anymore. But this doesn’t have to be a bad thing. We’ve just been conditioned to interpret this kind of relational evolution as something sad – or that needs to be fixed somehow, when this simply isn’t always the case or appropriate. Sometimes it’s just the RIGHT thing to let certain relationships go if you’re truly committed to what’s best for YOU in the long run.

The most important thing you can do to attract the relationship you truly want is to be who you truly are. You don’t want to adjust who you BE in the world in hopes to attract the right person, because while you may successfully attract someone, they are attracted to who you’re BEING – and if that isn’t who you truly are – then you’ve just sentenced yourself to a life of pretending – OR, the real you WILL come out, and you’ll wonder why the relationship suddenly doesn’t seem to be working.

Also, getting clear on what you truly want your relationship to look and feel like is key – but not to the extent that you attach “success” in this area to a specific person. That is NOT to say that you WON’T attract the person you want in your life of course, but to attach to someone with the feeling that “it must be this person, or I won’t or can’t be happy” is just indicative of resistance that will ultimately backfire on you.


So much of this is about trusting the attraction process and not trying to second-guess Universal intelligence. Whenever you feel you’re trying to force something, that’s an indication that you’re second-guessing the Universe. You see, this can and should be much easier than we make it. I believe that the common saying that “relationships are hard” is just as much of a limiting belief as “money is hard to come by”. It may occur that way for many people, but it’s not a Universal Truth. However if it IS your belief, just know that the Universe will always respond to your vibration and bring you a perfect match for that. If you don’t like how it’s showing up, you have to take responsibility for what you’re putting out there and change it appropriately.

Be who you are, be clear on what you want and don’t want in a relationship, release any limiting or negative beliefs you have about love, relationships, your worthiness to have what you want and so on, and then trust the Divine intelligence of the Universe to bring you the perfect match to your vibration – knowing that many people will flow in and out of your life – each one a gift and an opportunity for learning more about yourself and what you want your life to be.

The Easiest Way to A Whole Happy Life

Secrets of whole happy lifePeople always think that what they want is money, relationships, and material possessions, but what they truly want is happiness. Wealth, health and relationships are just the rewards of being happy. Happiness is a state of vibration that is in harmony with the universe. As you already know, the same frequency vibrations tend to attract each other, so the vibration of happiness is going to attract more wealth, better relationships and better health, since these things are going to add more happiness to your life, and they are in the same vibration. If you go after money, you may not get it, but if you go after happiness, money will flow to you. The same applies to relationships and health.

I believe the ultimate goal in life is to achieve a state of well being, or we can simply say happiness.

Is there an easier way to achieve happiness? The answer is Yes! and I am now going to show you HOW.

I have learned one phrase from Dr Wayne Dyer, that I will never forget. The phrase is “How may I serve?”. Dr Dyer said that before his seminars, he always meditates, and repeats the phrase as a mantra “How may I serve… How may I serve?”. He never brings any notes with him, and when he speaks, the words just keep flowing to him. He knows exactly what to say, and what to teach. Dr Wayne Dyer is one of my favourite role models. He has achieved great success in almost every area of his life. I believe the one single most important element in Dr Wayne Dyer’s success isthis mantra “How may I serve?”

Ask yourself now “How may I serve?”. This is the key to ultimate happiness and fulfillment in life. I would like to share some of my own experience.

The most enjoyable thing in my life at this stage is writing articles that can make a difference to the quality of people’s lives. Whenever I finish writing an article, I feel positive energy throughout my body. I sometime get puzzled myself! Where does this information come from? How do I write so many articles, having thousands of people read my articles every week? I have finally realized the secret is within this phrase “How may I serve?”.

Every time I write an article for my newsletter, I sit in front of my computer, and ask myself “How may I serve? How may I serve?”. Strangely, the ideas come, and I put my fingers on the keyboard, and words just start flowing.

I didn’t understand how this process works, until one day I realized that the information does not come from me, it comes from God (or the Higher Intelligence), I am only a channel for the information to flow. I am a channel that God has created to serve the world. Because that is what I am here for, when I am serving, I feel positive energy, and I feel happy.

I have learned that my life purpose is to serve, and I think this is applicable Universal energy sourceto everyone. This is what God wants me to learn, this is also what God wants you to learn. You will only feel truly fulfilled once you realize this truth. “Your life purpose is to serve”.

I am sure you have heard that “If you seek happiness for yourself, it will always elude you, if you seek happiness for others, you will find it for yourself.” I know this is why every time I finish an article, I feel so happy, because I know that my article is going to benefit thousands of people, and it is going to change the world to some small extent. Maybe 90% of people will not take any action after they read my articles, this is the nature of human beings, but I know as long as they read them, their awareness will be expanded, and they will see a difference in the long run. For that less than 10% of people who do take action, I know my words are going to change their lives for the better. What a great thing I am doing! I am proud of it. I feel very happy about it.

So starting from today, find ways to help other people. Find some way to serve. You will get addicted to it, because it is so enjoyable helping others. Your help is going to change people’s lives.

This is the law of the universe, and it never fails. So, whatever you want to experience in your life, cause others to experience it first. This is the most powerful way to attain your own desires, and the easiest way to achieve happiness.

Setting SMART Goals For a Hypnosis Session

Hypnosis is an art that goes beyond just something that you do.  In Conversational Hypnosis you are working to change people’s lives.  Whether you are serving people who want to be healthier, happier or improve a certain behavior you are reaching to help people to enrich their lives, make them more fulfilling in some way.

Because this is such an important and large thing to do you really must know how to set your goals for each session?  If you go into your sessions without any goals it is likely that you will get nowhere as that is where you set out to be.  Without goals you really don’t have much direction.

goal setting for successful hypnosis sessionSetting goals for your hypnotic sessions can be made simple by following a few important steps in order to obtain the results you and your client is looking for.  It is well documented in many studies that those who are successful in their business are those who had goals, they wrote them down and put them into action within their unconscious mind.

One way to look at goal setting is to remember the PACE Formula.  PACE is a formula used for success and can be used in goal setting.  If you remember it stands for purpose, adapt, calibrate and engage.

Purpose, this is one of the most important parts of goal setting.  You must know what it is you want.  If you don’t know what it is you want to get out of each session with each of your clients then you are doing you both a disservice because you will likely go nowhere or end up somewhere that you are not wanted.

If you know your purpose, where you want to go you will be helping your mind out a great deal.  You mind is constructed in a way that is goal oriented making the focus you have become your reality.  In other words if you know what you want and you focus on it you will have the power already instilled in your mind to make it a reality.

Now this doesn’t mean it just happens right away.  You can’t focus your mind for a few minutes and then presto all your wishes are granted.  But by knowing what you want and writing it down puts the wheels of the unconscious into motion, helping you to recognize the natural opportunities that arise that will assist you in some way to reaching your goal.

If you don’t write down what you want or actualize it in some way your unconscious will float on unaware of what it is you want and continue to skip by those natural opportunities because it is unaware that they would be helpful in goals that you have.

PACE is one of the goal setting systems that many other goal setting systems are based off of, the general concept of these four steps are a good place to start with setting goals.  Any other system you choose will be a refinement of the PACE formula, it doesn’t really matter what system you choose as long as it is a complete one and works for you.

The biggest pitfall of the PACE formula is that people tend to follow it until they reach the final step which is to engage.  You must always take that last step, without engaging or taking action you will never reach the full potential of your goals.  Engagement is necessary for completion.

Another set of rules for setting your goals is the SMART Goals system.  In this you have the steps of specific, measurable, affect, realistic and timed.  In this acronym you have a perfect lay out of the information that the brain needs in order to get the goal setting process under way.

smart hypnosis goalsThe first step is to be specific.  Having a vague goal is like saying you want to be liked.  Well there are many people who may like you, but if you get down to it and the only person who likes you is the axe murderer down the street then technically your goal has been accomplished.  You never said who you wanted to like you only that you wanted to be liked.  Once your goal is achieved your brain will look at it as complete and file it away in the ‘I did it!’ file.  You must be specific for you unconscious to continue until the true goal is met and to pick up on the best natural opportunities for actualizing your goal.

The next rule is measurable.  This is the way of knowing when your goal is complete you will want to make goals that are measurable.  This rule is closely related to the first rule in the best way to make a goal measurable is to be specific.  Not only do you want to finish the race but you want to finish in under thirty minutes time.  This is measurable it gives a limit and a turning off point for your brain to acknowledge whether the goal has been met or not.

Another great item to add to measurement is to use sensory rich specific terms about what will take place when your goal is complete.  This means to let your mind know what you will see, hear, smell and feel when the goals is accomplished.  If you finish your race in less than thirty minutes you will probably see other runners finishing with you, taste the water at the end of the race, feel the sweat of hard work and a job well done.  Let you mind know what success will look like for you.

The third rule in SMART is the affect.  This is simply the emotions or feelings you get when you think about your goal.  This is what motivates you, the stronger the emotion you feel when you think about your goal the stronger the motivation you will have.  This means you unconscious will also be driven by that same motivation and will put more of the resources it finds available to work for your achievement.

Next is realistic.  This means you should simply be realistic in your setting of goals.  This can be a hard thing to judge but the goal needs to be realistic in the real world and realistic for you.  This is not an excuse to not go for the highest goals you have it is simply asking that you step back and check the realizations of those goals before you embark down a path of predicted failure.

Finally the last step in SMART is the step of timed.  You need to be sure to set a time frame for your goals so you have a deadline.  If there is not cutoff point then there is no rush to complete your goals.  Your timeline should still be realistic but if you don’t have one you could spend your entire life trying to reach one goal and never accomplish it only because you were again not specific enough when you set the goal in the first place.

One last note to leave you with on goal setting.  Now that you know the rules or at least a set of rules to go by, remember that you can sabotage yourself simply by trying too hard.  As with anything else you can cause conscious interference that will inhibit you ability to reach the goals you have set.  Be sure not to try too hard, let your unconscious take care of the things it knows how to do and you just focus on the bigger picture of bringing the goal to mind and making wise but relaxed choices.

We have been taught that to use the law of attraction to create the reality we desire, we must focus more on what we want and less on what we don’t want. The truth is that there are times when we must focus on what we don’t want so that we can attract it out fully and see it for what it is. What we don’t want could be part of what we want and that is why we are still creating it unknowingly.

No habit is completely good or bad. There is always a benefit that it can provide and a detriment that it can cause. The mixture of positive and negative aspects is what traps most people in addictions. Focusing on the positive aspects alone does not remove the effect of the negative aspects. Most people use the law of attraction in a way that’s unenlightened, that’s why they keep mistreating their lives. From the place of seeing things for what they are completely, we can truly create in a conscious manner.

The reason why the undesirable consequences reoccur over and over again is because people ignore it and choose to focus on the positive aspects instead. But ignoring negative consequences do not make them go away. By observing what is, you begin to see what needs to be handled because intentions are a package deal. You cannot accept a portion without experiencing the rest that goes with it. If something as a whole isn’t beneficial for you, you have to learn to drop the whole thing in place of another.

What you resist persists. You resist something by ignoring it. It is alright to ignore something negative as long as it stands by itself, but if it is attached to something else that is positive, it will still remain if you hold on to that positive thing without observing and resolving what is on the other side. Evolution of being is about learning all we can from a situation whether positive or negative, and then transcending both aspects so that we may be free to move without entrapment of the negative with the positive.

In order to remove something, first let it flourish. We expand a problem by focusing on the negative aspects in order to make it grow to full bloom. It is the little things that matter because they form the foundation of whole systems and relationships. When we treat a fundamental issue as something to be taken lightly and brushing it off, we are actually doing the worst for the problem as it will continue to perpetuate and bite into all overlying issues without us even being conscious or able to do anything with it.

Focusing on a problem and making it as bad as you can make it to be may seem like the worst thing to do. But what seems to be the worst thing can actually be the best thing. Because when you accelerate its effect to the point where you can see the ultimate worst scenario it can bring about, you are able to resolve it at its worst and the only thing that remains will be good after that. It is this paradoxical way of engaging reality that reveals how the universe actually works, and how total resolution operates.

We tend to focus on pleasure and avoid pain because we think experiencing one is good but experiencing the other is bad. Pain and pleasure are neutral. It is not a matter of seeing one thing as good and another as bad. Both are forces that can be used to serve you in getting what you want. Pleasure a motivating force that moves you towards what you desire and pain is a motivating force that moves you away from what you do not desire. Using both forces together will give you maximum moving power.

attraction polaritiesPain and pleasure works well as a combination if the pain is from something and the pleasure is from something else. But there is a conflict that occurs when the pain and pleasure come from different aspects of the same thing. You are pushing yourself away and pulling yourself towards the thing at the same time. That is why you seem to go nowhere and keep on experiencing the same turmoil of good and bad stuff. Pain and pleasure works properly when they are in alignment and not opposing one another.

Congruence is power and incongruence is powerlessness. That is why people are powerless when they are in conflict with themselves about what they really want. If you want to move from powerlessness to power, you have to turn from being incongruent to being congruent. You do this by stopping your experience of the pleasure from pulling you towards the very thing that causes you pain. You focus on increasing the pain and negativity of the situation until you become fully congruent with moving away.

Use massive pain as a leverage to drive you into breaking free. The breaking point comes when you finally say you had enough of a situation and make a fully intentional decision to end it right there and then. As long as there is a part that is hanging on to it, we haven’t generated enough pain to cut ourselves loose. It is not the pain of leaving but the pain of staying on that helps us to make that decision with full power. When you’re free, you don’t need the pain and can focus on the pleasure of being free.

Use the law of attraction to pull out the problem and nail it once and for all. Your level of ability to attract all that you desire in your life depends on the amount of energies you have freed from negative issues to channel fully into your desired manifestations. All suffering is the result of attachment. Suffering is not evil but it is a process that can trap you in evil or free you from it. Draw out the evil so that you can deal with it. Maximize the suffering until it forces you to cut of attachment and transcend suffering.

Ultimately, you probably will be stuck in your terrible job, your social life will consist of one fight after the other with your spouse and your energy hits rock bottom. This can be very discouraging and you will know that it is not the way you want to live.

You will eventually ask yourself, “There has to be a better way.”

Fortunately, there is an answer in the incredible power of meditation. If you want to begin this experience for yourself right now, try the following:

1) Set aside 10 to 15 minutes sometime before you go to bed;

2) Find a quiet place with absolutely no distractions;

3) Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes;

4) Empty your mind of all your daily concerns by visualizing how you put them in a box next to you and concentrate on your breathing;

5) Count yourself down from 5 to 1

6) With every breath take all the positive energy in and with every

breath out let go of all the negative energy

7) Take slow deep breaths and systematically relax each part of your body, starting with your head and ending with your feet;

8 ) As your muscles relax you will feel all of the stress flow out and be left with a completely relaxed sensation throughout your body.

9) See yourself in a peaceful place like a park, the beach, the forest

or the mountains. Wherever you’d like to be in this moment.

10) Whenever you like count yourself up from 1 to 5

That’s it.

If you do this on a daily basis you will notice that you feel well rested the next day.(Instead of having yet another sleepless night)

You also will find that your mind opens up to new ideas to tackle your issues. Maybe you’ll get an inspiration for a new idea.

This is just the beginning and it doesn’t even scratch the surface of what you can accomplish with meditation!

A Basic Structure of Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis, Conversational Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are all inclusive of trance sessions that should and will take on whatever form is necessary for producing the results you and your clients are trying to reach.  There is not a certain way everything in hypnosis needs to happen.  It is true that there are principals and concepts to follow as you have been learning but once trance is achieved the natural progression of that trance should be allowed and commended.

The best guide you can have is that of a basic structure for hypnotherapy, this is not a thing that is set in stone it is simply a guideline.  If things vary a bit and are still producing the trance and results you have set out to obtain then you should let things happen naturally as they are.

hypnosis for mental healthThis basic structure for hypnotherapy is all based on eight concepts which you will read about as we continue.  The eight concepts are therapeutic preparation, interviews, identify work, induce trance, change work patterns, test and future pacing, ending trance and setting tasks and dismissal.

The first concept of therapeutic preparation is a variety of things you as a hypnotist need to practice, keep fresh and prepare for in, before and after each of your therapeutic sessions. The first thing you need to do in this step is to prepare yourself for the sessions and work to be done.  Make sure that you are up for the task that the problems the client wishes to solve are within your realm and reach to solve.

You also need to keep yourself clean and sharp for all your processes.  In this I mean that you should be practicing your skills to keep them in the best shape they can be in as well as breaking your trances each time sessions end.  If you don’t you will be taking that trance and all it entails into others and your own life after the session is over.

You are trying to rid your clients of problems not create new ones for yourself!  In great seriousness if you do not clear your mind and keep your skills honed you can start to lead yourself into an unhealthy way of living.

Yet another aspect of this step is to be able to leave your work behind, store away the problems of your clients when the session is over and you are not working on that case.  If you are over analyzing your practice you will soon tire of it.  It is good to keep in mind the mistakes you make and the things you learn from them but dwelling is not healthy.  The bottom line is to live outside your therapy practice.

The second step in this basic structure is to interview your clients. The first part of this is a meet and greet in which you will build rapport, comfort with one another and trust.  This basic meeting will give you a chance to converse out of trance and will initiate a general relationship built on warmth and comfort, inspiring confidence your ability to help one another.  In this way you are also making an impact on the person with your credentials and experience as well as your general demeanor.

The next phase of this step is to conduct a formal type of interview with the client.  In this interview your objectives will be to gather information, identify the problem, investigate the resources you have to help and challenge the patterns and presuppositions that are causing limits in the resolution of the problem.  You will do all this through six different specific steps of interviewing.

The first is to calibrate, which is to open yourself and be aware of the person’s responses you are getting.  In this you will have to be aware to also test both the conscious and unconscious minds.

The second step is that of rapport, which will build naturally as the interview takes place, be aware of it and help it to form.

The next step in this process is that of investigation, this is to investigate the problem, all aspect of it.  This includes when, where, why, how and all the surrounding circumstances the person can give you.

hypnotheraphyAfter that you will move on to step four which is to challenge the problem.  This is simply raising questions and doubts about the problem the client is  encountering.  In doing this you will challenge the beliefs and realities that the client has that surround the problem as well as seed some doubt about how concrete the problem truly is.

The fifth step in this process is to formulate an outcome.  This will entail getting to the heart of what the client really wants to get from your sessions as well as setting goals.  You can use any goals setting procedure you like a great one to use is the SMART goal to set an outline of what is to be resolved.

Finally the last step in this interview process will be to investigate the resources available for solving the problem.  This can include experiences of the client that will be helpful, as well as a complete picture of the life of the client including beliefs, values, commitments and support systems.

These topics will provide clues in how to solve the problem your client is faced with.  Clues that you can use in hypnosis that they have not been able to connect with the dilemma they are facing.

Now you are ready to move on to step three of the basic structure in hypnotherapy. In this step you will be identifying the areas in which you will be doing your work.  You will use the information that you were given in the interview process to identify the areas in which you can provide assistance with given the amount of time you have to work within.  Part of this will be to make a judgment on what you believe your client can accomplish and work though in the given period of time you have.

In step four you will start with trance inductions. This is where your hypnotherapy or hypnosis will take place; you can do this either informally or formally.

Step five is to involve change work patterns; these are methods such as changing frames, stories and other interventions. These are only a few options you have.  You should constantly keep your mind open to new developments in this area as well as find the change work patterns that will work for you; these may be from other people or invented yourself.

Step six in basic structure is to test and future pace. First testing is always going to be an important part of your hypnosis structure.  It is important to test the progress you are making so you know what is working and what has potential of failure or falling apart.  If your therapy is going to fall apart you will be better off discover this while in session than to realize it happened when you were not around to patch things up.  Test thoroughly and often so you are aware of where you stand with your clients.

Future pacing is a rehearsal of future situations that the client’s problem would have appeared in, in the past.  In this you will want the situation to naturally trigger the solutions you are helping your client to find.  The language you use here will also help your client to move toward change.

Now that you have worked your way through the first six steps in the basic structure of hypnotherapy you are ready to move on to step seven which is to end the trance.  As you start to end your trance keep in mind that this is the most suggestible part of trance and you should use it to that advantage.  Make positive suggestions and self esteem building tools here as you bring your client out of trance.

After you end the trance you will also want to avoid suggesting any problems occurred as well as distract their attention with a random set of comments.  This will likely cause some amnesia to set in to they will only remember the end conversation of your session.

The final step in this structure is to task and dismiss the client. The objective here is to assign tasks to the client that will aid in the processes you have used in the hypnosis.  After that your session is ended and the person is dismissed, only do this once you are sure the trance has been broken for reasons of safety and proper function in the world outside of your office.  And that is your simple basic structure for hypnotherapy.

We also know that mnemonics isn’t similar to magic tricks but due to its proven efficiency, it’s considered a technique pertaining to memorization.

If you haven’t realized yet how our memory works, a person’s memory effectively functions to how it associates objects and information. But of course, what we need to practice at is how we focus on things and eventually associate or link them with other information that enable us to remember what we need to remember.

One way to remember things easily is to rhyme words. How do you think we’re able to carry riddles and rhymes during our nursery years in school up to the later years of our lives? Just reading this question alone makes you remember one or two nursery rhymes you have learned, right? This also answers how toddlers are able to cope with what they learn in school at this very early stage of their lives. This is also the very reason why rhymes are considered as common memory aids.

Another effective memory technique is the use of initials or the first letter of the word. For example, for a group of items, you can take each first letter and make a word out of it. Remember ROY G. BIV? If you do, you’d know right away that this is not a name of a person but it stands for the seven colors of the rainbow – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Notice how you have easily recognized the initials? Now you’re nodding.

You need not to make a name always out of the initials from a set of items. You can make a word or anything which can easily help you recognize the words equivalent to items. But in some cases, there might be too little number of vowels versus the consonants. Let’s have the items pasta, rye, fish, cheese and table. Together they look like this: PRFCT. We can add the letter E in between the initials to make it a word; in this case, it can be read now as PERFECT. Of course, when you remember the word PERFECT, you’d easily recognize which item stands for each consonant. Simple? Yes.
